Unsolved Murder: Mike Grair

On October 10, 2008, Michael Grair's body was found inside his white Cadillac Escalade behind a vacant commercial center he owned. The engine was still running. His murder has yet to be solved and his family is offering $100,000 for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the killer or killers.

Unsolved Murder
On the evening of May 2, 2008 the victim, Richard Zarate along with his wife Monica and a group of friends were at Loffler’s Bar at 8901 Katella Ave, in Anaheim.

Zarate and his friends exited the bar shortly after 0100 hours. A verbal and minor physical altercation took place in front of the bar involving subjects in Zarate’s group with another group of people which was broken up by Loffler’s security. The argument involved a man in the other group urinating on a wall in front of women.

Free CERT Training

Classes are free!
Oxnard Fire Department & the city's Disaster Preparedness Division is inviting the community to join us for our next series of FREE Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes.

Students will learn how to be self-sufficent in the event of a disaster and will have many "hands-on" training opportunties throughout this six week course.

Lack of Ethics: The Star

Editorial
The recent murder case of former Oxnard Police Officer, Robert Perez Jr., 37, has sparked many questions and concerns regarding the lack of journalistic integrity by the Ventura County Star.

Claudia Valenciana, a former sheriff's deputy, owned the home where Perez's body was found. She has hired attorney Ron Bamieh, who incidentally, also represents the Ventura County Star.
